Capacity building training for Liberian information professionals

| The Sergio Vieira de Mello Library in partnership with UNEP Post Conflict Branch, Geneva are conducting a capacity building training programme for 8 liberians working at the Environment Protection Agency, the governemt agency dealing with environment. The training which started on 19th November and will end on 30th November 2007 is geared towards equipping the Information Professionals with various library and information management aspects. The training will mainly focus on how to set up an environmental information center in Liberia, and keep it proactive and operational in meeting the specific information needs of their users, especially through outreach and promotion programmes. Other areas of training are; Public Information flow, Internet searching, Web design, use of Integrated Library Management Systems, Cataloguing, Managing of Information centers among many other beneficial areas. |
